What are some scary Urban Myths and Legends?
I have to right a speech on an urban myth or legend and I can't find any good ones, except maybe the Candyman. Anybody have any ideas?

- I hate mirrors....Blue Baby and Bloody Mary are both scary. Try http://urbanlegendsonline.com
- The Spook Light in Quapaw, Oklahoma.
- 2012- I don't know if that can be considered an urban myth or legend. The Inca calendar ends in 2012. People have interpreted that to mean the end of the world in 2012. The Incas did prophesies something was going to happen in that year but didn't say it was the end of the world.
- The Undead Republican Party?
- democrats.
- The Bogeyman which can be anyone and is based on a cultural enemy which hides in your house waiting. The Bogeyman is also a soldier in wars or can be a terrorst like Osama Bin Laden. Osama Bin Laden has become a Bogeyman because no one can find him. Then there are Culture Wars like those espoused by Christian Exremists in the documentary Jesus Camp. The most scary Urban Myth in my opinion would be Police Marines invading their own city from navy ships docked in the harbour of the city.
- urban legends - let's see: there's the happy couple leaving their new born baby alone with a babysitter for the first time. The baby sitter does drugs and puts the baby in the oven thinking its the roast she's supposed to put in there instead. there's the kids making out in a deserted spot that hear on the radio about the escaped murderer with the hook on his hand, hear a strange noise outside and drive away only to discover a dangling hook on the outside of the door when they reach the girl's house. there's the baby sitter that thinks she hears something in the house and calls the police. When she hangs up an escaped murderer bursts out and is about to kill her but the police arrive just in time revealing that after she hung up with them they heard someone else hang up on the line. the old woman living alone that goes to bed and wakes up in the middle of the night. Putting her hand under the bed her dog licks it to reassure her and she goes back to sleep only to wake up in the morning to find her dog chopped up in the bathroom and bloody words painted on the mirror that say 'your hand tasted good'. a couple of myths might be the spiders nesting in the beehive hairdo and the murderer that cries like a baby outside the door late at night to trick women into opening it.
